Hi, I'm Ash, fellow senior. After a successful career, I postponed retirement to start Empathy, a brand dedicated to helping seniors and solo agers thrive. Ten Minute AI is my way of doing just that — showing you how to use AI with confidence, one simple 10-minute guide at a time.

Can ChatGPT Help Me Write My Own Life Story?
Yes, and you don't need any writing experience at all. Tell ChatGPT one memory at a time, in your own words, just talking the way you would to a grandchild, and ask it to help shape that memory into a short, well-written passage you can save.
I started with a single memory of my childhood kitchen. Once I saw it written back to me nicely, I wanted to keep going.

Starting With One Memory
Don't try to write your whole life story at once — it's too much, and that's why so many people never start. Instead, tell ChatGPT about a single moment: a childhood home, a first job, how you met your spouse. Ask it to help turn your words into a short, warm passage.
Building It Over Time
Do this once a week, or whenever a memory comes to mind, and save each passage in a simple document. Over a few months, without ever sitting down to "write a book," you'll have built a real collection of your own memories in your own voice.
Turning It Into Something Lasting
When you have enough passages, ChatGPT can help you organize them in order and suggest a few connecting sentences between sections. My own book, Write Your Life Story with AI, walks through this exact process step by step if you'd like a guide to follow along the way.
